Sicilia-Vita: Retreats and Tours

Including Immunity Kitchen experiences
Document version: v1.0

Effective date: 27/08/2026

Welcome

We welcome participants from Sicily, elsewhere in the European Union and around the world, particularly the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and the United States. We want every participant to have a safe, enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Sicilia‑Vita is based in Sicily, but our guests are international. We have prepared these terms with our principal guest communities in mind so that people booking from the EU and EEA, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and the United States can understand how their booking will be handled and know that the protections relevant to them have been considered.

These Terms and Conditions explain the basis on which Sicilia-Vita: Retreats and Tours accepts bookings and provides retreats, tours, food and cooking experiences, including experiences offered under our Immunity Kitchen brand.

Please read them carefully together with the description, price, inclusions, exclusions and booking conditions shown for your chosen experience. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read and accepted the terms that apply to it. If you book for another person, you must have their authority and make sure that they receive and accept these terms.

1. About us

Sicilia-Vita: Retreats and Tours and Immunity Kitchen are trading brands operated by Lisa Strickland and Lori Anderson, established in Sicily at Sicilia-Vita: Retreats and Tours, Acireale, CT, Italy 95024 (“Sicilia‑Vita”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

Immunity Kitchen is our food, cooking and wellbeing brand. Unless we expressly state otherwise, it is not a separate legal entity and bookings made under that name are contracts with the Sicilia‑Vita business identified above.

2. Your booking contract

Your contract is formed when we issue written booking confirmation after receiving any payment required at the time of booking. The booking confirmation, the relevant retreat or tour description, and the price and conditions supplied when you book form part of the contract.

The person making the booking is responsible for:

You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking. Unless an experience is expressly advertised as suitable for children or young people, all participants must be at least 18 on its start date.

3. What is included

Only services expressly identified as included in the experience description or booking confirmation are included in the price. Flights, independent travel to or from Sicily, passports, visas, travel insurance, personal expenses and services not expressly listed are excluded.

Some bookings may combine accommodation, transport, excursions or other travel services. Where a booking is a package or linked travel arrangement under applicable Italian or EU law, all mandatory rights and protections applying to that arrangement form part of the contract and take priority over inconsistent wording in these terms. We will provide any prescribed pre-contract information required by law.

4. Prices and payment

The price, currency, deposit, payment schedule and accepted payment methods will be shown before booking and confirmed in writing. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, payment must be made by the dates stated in the booking confirmation.

If payment is overdue, we will contact you and allow a reasonable opportunity to correct it. If it remains outstanding, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you under the cancellation conditions disclosed when you booked.

An obvious pricing or description error does not bind either party. If we discover one after a booking request, we will tell you promptly and offer the choice of confirming at the correct price or receiving a full refund of any amount paid.

5. Cancellations, transfers and refunds

The cancellation, transfer, substitution and refund conditions shown before booking and recorded in the booking confirmation apply to your experience. If maintained separately, they are available at time of booking.

A cancellation or transfer request must be made in writing by the person who made the booking and takes effect when we receive it.

Nothing in our cancellation conditions limits a refund or other remedy required by mandatory consumer or package-travel law. Where applicable law gives you a right to transfer a package booking to another eligible traveller, we will explain the process and any reasonable, evidenced costs.

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance from the time of booking, including suitable cover for cancellation, illness, medical treatment, repatriation, belongings and planned activities.

6. Health, fitness and accessibility

Travel and retreat activities require participants to be in sufficiently good general health and capable of undertaking the activities described for the chosen experience. As this is a group experience, participants must be able to care for themselves, with any assistance agreed in advance, and must not unreasonably impede the programme or interfere with another participant’s safety or enjoyment.

Please carefully consider the travel and activity demands described on our website and consult an appropriate medical professional if you are uncertain about your ability to participate.

Before travel, please tell us about any health condition, allergy, disability, reduced mobility, dietary need or other circumstance reasonably relevant to your safe participation or the safety of others. We ask only for information needed to assess reasonable arrangements and manage the experience safely. Health information is handled under our Privacy Policy and, where required, separate explicit consent.

We will consider reasonable adjustments and discuss individual needs in good faith. We are not a medical or personal-care provider and cannot guarantee that every venue, activity or third-party service can accommodate every need. If we cannot safely provide the agreed experience after considering reasonable alternatives, we will explain why and discuss the options available under the contract and applicable law.

If a participant deliberately withholds materially relevant information or knowingly supplies inaccurate information, we may reasonably limit or end participation where necessary to protect health or safety. Costs and refund entitlement will be assessed proportionately, having regard to the circumstances and applicable law.

7. Passports, visas and travel requirements

You are responsible for checking and complying with passport, visa, immigration, customs, health and entry requirements applicable to you. These may change and can depend on nationality, residence, travel history and personal circumstances.

We may provide general information, but this is not a substitute for advice from the relevant government, embassy, consulate or medical professional. Except where the law provides otherwise, we are not responsible for inability to travel caused by a participant’s failure to meet applicable requirements.

8. Trip details subject to change

We make every reasonable effort to ensure that published materials are accurate. Experiences are often advertised well before their start date, so activities, schedules, accommodation, personnel, transport or other logistics may occasionally change because of availability, local conditions or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

If a significant change is required before the experience, we will tell you as soon as reasonably possible and provide any choice, adjustment, alternative or refund required by the booking contract and applicable law. Less significant changes that do not materially alter the experience may be communicated before travel or during orientation.

9. Safety and inherent risks

Travel and retreat activities involve risks. These may include transport disruption, accidents, natural events, extreme weather, outbreaks of illness, crime, insect-borne or other infectious disease, environmental hazards, local infrastructure limitations, civil unrest, terrorism and unforeseen events.

We take reasonable steps to plan our experiences, select suppliers and respond to foreseeable issues, but cannot eliminate every risk or guarantee risk-free travel. Participants should review current official travel and health information issued by their country of nationality or residence, including travel advisories, local laws and customs, health precautions and destination guidance.

You remain responsible for taking reasonable care of your health, safety and belongings, following safety instructions and making decisions appropriate to your circumstances. This does not remove any duty of care or legal responsibility that Sicilia‑Vita or a supplier owes to you.

10. Conduct and participation

Participants must treat other guests, staff, local communities and suppliers with respect, comply with local law and follow reasonable retreat and safety instructions.

We may refuse admission or reasonably limit or end participation where a person’s conduct or condition:

Where circumstances allow, we will explain the concern and give the participant a reasonable opportunity to correct it. Immediate action may be taken where necessary to protect people or property. Decisions will be reasonable and proportionate, not arbitrary.

Where participation ends because of a participant’s serious breach, they may be responsible for reasonable additional costs caused by the breach and may not be entitled to a refund, subject to applicable law.

11. Suppliers and responsibility

Sicilia‑Vita may purchase or reserve services from independent accommodation providers, carriers, guides, venues, activity providers, restaurants and other third parties (“Suppliers”). Suppliers may have their own reasonable conditions and safety requirements, which apply to their services where properly disclosed.

We do not avoid a legal responsibility merely because a Supplier is independent. In particular, where Sicilia‑Vita is the organiser of a package, we accept all organiser responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to mandatory obligations, Sicilia‑Vita is not responsible for loss caused solely by:

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, wilful misconduct, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

12. Unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances

Events beyond reasonable control may include severe weather, natural disaster, epidemic or public-health restriction, war, civil unrest, terrorism, governmental action, border closure, significant transport disruption, labour action or serious failure of essential infrastructure.

If such circumstances affect an experience, we will act reasonably, communicate with you and provide assistance, alternatives, cancellation rights or refunds where required by the contract and applicable law. We are not responsible for losses that the law does not require us to bear, including independent arrangements outside your booking.

13. Photographs and video

We may photograph or film an experience respectfully. Where identifiable guest images are intended for marketing, social media or promotional use, we will request separate permission. Declining promotional use will not prevent participation.

You may withdraw permission for future use by contacting us. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful use unlawful and may not allow recall of printed material or copies shared by unrelated third parties. We will stop new uses within our control and remove online material where reasonably practicable.

Participants must respect other guests’ preferences when taking or sharing their own photographs or recordings.

14. Complaints and assistance

If a problem arises during an experience, please tell the host or relevant Supplier promptly so that there is a fair opportunity to resolve it. If it remains unresolved, contact us and provide a concise description and supporting information.

We will acknowledge and address complaints within a reasonable time. Asking for prompt notice does not remove a mandatory right or legal limitation period.

15. Website information and intellectual property

Website content provides general information and describes our services. Experience-specific information confirmed in booking documents takes priority if there is an inconsistency.

Unless otherwise stated, the Sicilia-Vita: Retreats and Tours and Immunity Kitchen names, text, branding, design and original media belong to Sicilia‑Vita or are used with permission. They may not be commercially reproduced, adapted or distributed without prior written permission, except as permitted by law.

Our website is hosted and technically managed by Inceptivec. Inceptivec does not become the organiser, contracting retreat provider or party to your booking merely by providing the site and its supporting technology.

16. Personal information

We process personal information under the Sicilia-Vita: Retreats and Tours Privacy Policy. General acceptance of these terms does not provide health-data or promotional-image consent; those choices are requested separately where needed.

17. Changes to these Terms and Conditions

Sicilia‑Vita, including experiences offered under Immunity Kitchen, may update these terms for future bookings to reflect changes in services, operations or legal obligations. The version accepted when your contract was formed continues to govern that booking unless a change is required by law or expressly agreed with you.

If a material change affects an existing booking, we will notify you directly by email and may use WhatsApp to alert you that the email was sent. Changes to the experience remain subject to section 8 and applicable law. Silence or continued website use will not be treated as acceptance of a material retrospective change where express agreement is required.

18. Governing law and international participants

These terms and the booking contract are governed by Italian law because Sicilia‑Vita is established and operates from Sicily.

If you are a consumer resident in another country—including an EU or EEA state, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada or the United States—you retain mandatory consumer protections, remedies and rights of access to a competent court that applicable law does not permit you to waive. Nothing in these terms is intended to replace or reduce those protections.

Beyond strict legal requirements, our commitment is to deal with every participant fairly, communicate clearly and apply a consistent standard of care. We have deliberately considered the jurisdictions from which most of our guests travel. Where an applicable home-jurisdiction rule provides a stronger non-waivable protection, we will respect it. Where a foreign law does not technically apply because of its territorial or business thresholds, we will still consider a reasonable request in the same open and respectful spirit wherever practicable.

Booking from another country does not by itself mean that every law of that country governs the contract. The position depends on factors including where Sicilia‑Vita directs or carries on business, where the participant is habitually resident, how the booking was offered and applicable private-international-law rules.

We encourage both parties to try to resolve disagreements directly first. Nothing prevents either party from using a competent court or available statutory dispute-resolution process.

19. General terms

If a court or competent authority finds part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive it.

These terms, the booking confirmation, the relevant experience description and any conditions expressly incorporated at booking form the agreement between us. Nothing affects rights that cannot legally be limited.
